What to wear

Choosing the right outfit makes such a difference to how your images feel. The goal is soft, timeless and natural.

Think smart casual with beautiful texture. Cotton, linen, soft knits, lace and light sweaters all photograph effortlessly and add depth without overpowering the image.

Keep it simple. Keep it comfortable. Keep it timeless.

The Do’s

Choose textured fabrics

Cotton, linen, soft knits, lace and lightweight layers work beautifully on camera.

Stick to solid colours

Solid tones keep the focus on you and your connection.

Wear neutral, earthy shades

To complement my natural style, I recommend:

White

Cream

Beige

Brown

Soft neutrals

Earthy tones

These colours keep your images warm, soft and timeless.

Prioritise comfort

These sessions are about cuddles and closeness. If you feel relaxed, it will show in your photos.

Bring options if you’d like

You’re very welcome to bring outfits to change into at the studio instead of arriving dressed.

Just remember sessions are one hour long, so keep changes simple.

The Don’ts

Please avoid:

Logos

Large prints

Slogans or wording on clothing

Busy patterns

Clothing that creases easily

Outfits you need to constantly adjust or feel comfortable in

Anything distracting pulls attention away from what really matters… your connection.

Shoes

There’s no need to worry about footwear.

I usually photograph from the waist up and often ask you to remove shoes and sometimes socks anyway.

What To Wear – Little Ones

I have a small selection of outfits in the studio for babies and children across various ages.

However, I cannot guarantee sizing for everyone, so please bring a backup outfit just in case.

I also have a few dresses available for mums.

That said, relaxed outfits such as trousers paired with a top usually photograph best for this style of session.

Checklist

  • Confirm date, time and check location
  • Choose any outfits and have them ready
  • Bring your child snacks and a drink just incase!

My studio is only about 3 minutes drive from the M1.

The business centre has a free car park and street parking if full.

You will need to come through the main entrance into the waiting area, then I will meet you and we'll go up the stairs to my studio.

There are refreshments in the studio.

After the Session

How do I view and choose my images?

I will send you over your viewing gallery link, these photos will be watermarked and unedited. You will favourite the photos you would like editing. You choose the amount of photos in your chosen package (5,10,15). If you would like to purchase any additional photos they are £20 per photo.

Once you have chosen your favourites, you let me know you have finished selecting them, these images then go into my editing list. Once they have been edited they will be re-uploaded full quality and watermark free for you to download and use as you wish!

If you would like to order wall art please let me know and we can work together to construct what you would like, or any visions you have had.

I look forward to seeing you!

If you have any other questions feel free to reach out to me.

See you soon, Melissa xx
