REasons why you should book a maternity photography session!

One of the most popular photoshoots I offer, apart from my newborn sessions, are maternity sessions. You’re counting down the days until your little one arrives! Depending on how you feel at this stage of your pregnancy, you may be unsure about whether you want to have professional maternity photos. Maybe you’re self-conscious about the way your body has changed/ is changing, or maybe you’re just not sure about the cost of a photo session. While it’s important to make a decision that’s right for you personally, there are many reasons why maternity photos are definitely worth the investment and are a choice you won’t regret. In this blog are some of the reasons why I think they are so popular, and such a great idea!

HERE ARE 5 REASONS WHY TO BOOK YOUR PHOTOS

1 - THIS IS AN EXPERIENCE YOU DON'T WANT TO FORGET

Pregnancy is a fleeting moment. For some people, they may never experience it again. So much of life passes by in a blur with so much happening, we often forget more than we remember.

While pregnancy may feel like a long nine months it will go by so fast and once you have little one in your arms you may start to forget the milestones of your pregnancy and the magic of the experience. Photos give you the ability to relive the moments with your growing bump.

2 - CAPTURES JOURNEY FOM BUMP TO BABY

Portraits will remind you of the emotion and abundant joy motherhood brings. The excitement you felt while waiting for little one to arrive, the flutters and movements when baby was comfy in your womb.

A professional maternity session can be a different and creative way to announce that you're expecting, the gender or the name of your child—or even all 3!

I haven't met a single person who said they regret having a maternity photoshoot... But I have met plenty who said they wish they had booked one!

Imagine having images on your walls from every stage in your family’s growth, from bump to baby.

This is your sign! Book your maternity session with me today.

3 - EMBRACING THIS AMAZING THING YOUR BODY IS DOING

The last so many months have been spent watching your bump grow. You’re probably wondering what your little one looks like. I can't think of a better way to celebrate this special and magical time.

This may be your first baby, or second, third, fourth, fifth and so on. Regardless of how many little ones you have, each pregnancy is special and unique. During your maternity session you can enjoy the wonderful and miraculous life your body is creating.

Photos can remind you of your current feelings in years to come. You won’t regret having a keepsake of that special time.

4 - THIS IS A SPECIAL MOMENT FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

My favourite part of maternity sessions is capturing moments between family members. I love sharing the magic on photos between partners, sometimes parents and older children to see genuine emotion within the photos. I'm so grateful for my clients who entrust me to capture it. Documenting your growing baby bump and sweet intimacy of motherhood.

Celebrate your family and document your story into parenthood. When they're a little older you could show them your photos, and tell them about your pregnancy and experiences so they know their family's journey.

5 - IT'S ABOUT YOU TOO, NOT JUST LITTLE ONE

Having a maternity session is about you too, not just your expected little one!

A maternity photography session is a perfect excuse to have YOU time! Whether you do your hair and makeup yourself, or stop by a salon to get ready for your session, treat yourself to a pamper. It’s nice for you to be looked after. The session itself is a great experience, a perfect opportunity for a relaxing time to spend either by yourself or with your partner.

Your body is growing a beautiful baby, a photoshoot is a great way to capture and celebrate how amazing that is, you are growing life!

I have a range of different women come to me in the studio. Some are confident and comfortable in having photographs taken, and other women are more reserved and nervous about having photos. Rest assured, I am an experienced and trained maternity photographer so can work with you to understand your level of comfort. I want you to leave the studio feeling empowered and knowing how gorgeous you are!

During the session I will guide you through strong and beautiful poses that feel natural and make you feel comfortable and confident. I have different dresses/fabrics available in the studio, some cover more skin, others embrace the naked form. You will choose your own dresses/ set ups when you arrive at the studio. If there is anything you want to bring with you please feel free.

There is always so much excitement and happiness in the studio during a maternity session whether it be just you, you and your partner and maybe even your older children that are eagerly awaiting their new sibling!

If you are debating having a session, remember that you are strong, capable and deserving of every opportunity. Even if you feel like you are not strong enough, you are.
